The charmingly named suburb of Crows Nest is a treasure trove of quality cafes and restaurants that cater to every type of budget.

All of the fab foodie options on offer can become a bit overwhelming so here are a few local favourites to get you started.

Breakfast

If you’re up early, follow the coffee connoisseurs and head to Bean Drinking for your caffeine hit.For those who prefer something a bit more solid to kick start their morning, there’s freshly toasted panini sandwiches next door at Montagu. They use earthy Single Origin beans for their coffee, which also delivers a great punch.

Lunch

Join the line at Ryo’s Noodle on Falcon Street, next to North Sydney Boys High School. It’s worth the wait to try their famous Shio ramen, a steaming bowl of rich broth and chewy egg noodles. If you’ve got a big appetite, pair it with their addictive karaage fried chicken with creamy Japanese mayonnaise.

Afternoon tea

To help you through the mid-afternoon slump, indulge in some delectable gelato at Sparrow Gelato and Espresso Bar. Try the more eccentric flavours like Pandan and Coconut with a Belgian waffle. If you need another shot of caffeine to get you through the day, choose a scoop of gelato and create your own affogato.

Dinner

Treat yourself to a seasonal three course degustation at the sleek WAQU restaurant, which specialises in contemporary Japanese fusion dishes at an affordable price without compromising on taste and quality. For a more laidback option, try Not Bread Alone, which has a relaxed outdoor courtyard and delicious pasta specials. Finish off the meal with a melt-in-your-mouth dessert like their warm chocolate brownie served with a smooth vanilla bean ice cream.

Drinks

For the more intimate feel of a small bar, head to The Foxtrot. This joint boasts a quirky, eclectic decor and bartenders who know how to satisfy any cocktail enthusiast. If beer is more your thing, there’s a branch of the ever popular Bavarian Bier Cafe on the main strip to round off your night.
