Becasse Bakery, Westfield Sydney

I’m always admiring the gorgeous sweet treats on show in the glass display case at the Becasse Bakery when I head into the Westfield Sydney food court and today I found out that they taste as great as they look!

The best selling dessert in the house is the Banana and Salted Peanut Brittle Tart, which sounds like an unconventional pairing at first, but really works wonders together. The tart has a myriad of flavours and textures, from the crunchy peanut brittle pieces scattered on the top (some of it sweet and some of it salty) to the soft, banana cream hiding underneath it all.

Another revelation was the housemade Blueberry Marshmallow, hiding in a separate basket on top of the glass display cabinet. Biting into the fluffy lavender coloured cloud is a throwback to childhood days, although this marshmallow is certainly much more sophisticated than any other I’ve had. It is airy and light, melting in your mouth and leaving a flavour that is sweet at first, fruity in the middle and then finishing with a zing of tanginess. It’s also one of the better value options on offer at Becasse Bakery – at only $2.50 a pop!

My friend had opted for the Passionfruit Cheesecake, which was creamy and tart with a nice buttery base. But the lack of apparent passionfruit flavour meant that it was not quite as impressive as the other two sweet treats we tried from Becasse Bakery.

There are still so many beautiful cakes and pastries at Becasse Bakery which I have yet to try and while not all of them are hits, there are enough highlights on the menu to keep me coming back for more to satisfy my sweet tooth.

I’ve realised that relatively speaking, I’ve not been a huge dessert/sweets fan but as I get older, I feel that my sweet tooth is developing more and more. The cakes at Becasse Bakery look great and very affordable too. Deserts always look so delicious. Will have to pop in here someday. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

  • That banana and salted peanut brittle tart is calling out to meeeee

  • I love the peanut butter and banana combo so the tart sounds super delicious!

  • When I tried the cheesecake at Becasse (a long time ago), the base was really hard. I’m glad to hear it has improved, maybe it’s time for me to go back!

Bought a chicken schnitzel today @ Becesse Westfield Pitt st. I went to bite into it & there was no chicken; they had put the tiniest piece of chicken in the roll (didn’t even fill half the role)
Wasn’t happy so I returned to get what I’d paid for & the lady serving didn’t appear to care at all. There was no apology just a sniggering attitude that she had to do more work.
I’d say that if Becasse as a whole is like this then it is one of those establishments that treat general customers as though they are privileged just to be served.
I can get better service anywhere
