Anatoli, Bondi Junction

The last time I went to the Eastern hotel was awhile ago, but this multi-level venue connected to Westfield Bondi Junction has since been revamped into a foodie haven. It now features The Publican on the ground floor, Anatoli on the first, Chimmi’s rum cantina on the second and El Topo bar on the rooftop.

The Stuffed Beaver, Bondi

Tucked away just a couple of blocks from the iconic Bondi Beach is Canadian-style pub, The Stuffed Beaver. As you walk in, you can already tell that there is no room for pretentiousness here – just a casual space for mates, sports-watching and rock’n’roll appreciation, coupled with some finger-licking messy food and drinks.

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, Bondi

Icebergs Dining Room and Bar is the iconic restaurant perched on top of the cliffs above the famous Bondi Icebergs swimming pool and it has been on my list to visit for a while. The right occasion came up recently and even though it was in winter, we decided to head over to try it out. As I had expected, the upscale restaurant is elegantly decked out but still has a relaxed vibe as befits its beachside location. The mood lighting makes it an ideal spot for a date, combined with the panoramic views of the ocean and beach from the restaurant which are beautiful even at night, but I imagine it would be an even more stunning backdrop for a meal in summer.

Paper Planes, Bondi

Paper Planes is a trendy Japanese fusion restaurant by the picturesque Bondi Beach which is located in a modern arcade that also houses Miss Chu’s. True to its name, there’s a canopy of origami paper planes hanging from the ceiling as a centrepiece inside the restaurant and the furnishings are full of dark polished wood and ceramics with Japanese words on them. We have been wanting to come over to try the Paper Planes menu for awhile so when the opportunity to try their new ramens for the launch of their Ramen Nights popped up, we were keen to see what it was all about.
