The boy and I arrived at Nick’s Bar and Grill after work one day and were greeted by the cheerful hostess who gave us the option to pick our own table. We went with the table next to the promenade to enjoy the picturesque view of King Street Wharf with its assortment of ships and gentle waves.

Kobe Jones 11th birthday dinner

It’s no secret that I am a massive fan of Kobe Jones (having blogged twice before already) and am so happy that I can be a part of their birthday celebrations. I still remember the first time I visited them all the way back in 2005 and was blown away by their cooking techniques and flavour combinations. Although some fault them on their price, you don’t visit King Street Wharf for a low-budget meal and each one of my visits has been a great experience.

The Malaya, King Street Wharf

Sydney has become quite infatuated with Malaysian food over the last year, but The Malaya down on King Street Wharf has been serving up this flavoursome cuisine to Sydneysiders for around 50 years now. My first visit to The Malaya was last year for a work Christmas lunch where we had the banquet menu and I had been pleasantly surprised by their tasty chilli bean sprouts and garlic chives dish.
