It’s been a while since I’ve been down to Casa di Nico, but we heard that they have relaunched their menu recently and went down to have a look to see what’s changed.
Sydney has become quite infatuated with Malaysian food over the last year, but The Malaya down on King Street Wharf has been serving up this flavoursome cuisine to Sydneysiders for around 50 years now. My first visit to The Malaya was last year for a work Christmas lunch where we had the banquet menu and I had been pleasantly surprised by their tasty chilli bean sprouts and garlic chives dish.
This restaurant is now closed.
A sleek new restaurant and bar has opened its doors at King Street Wharf and it goes by the name of The Hudson, serving up Modern European cuisine with a hint of molecular gastronomy. It’s clear that the decor is inspired by Manhattan, with the plush dark leather seats and eye-catching lights hanging vertically from the ceiling exuding an aura of luxury. The lights were dimmed when we arrived on a Friday night, adding to the glamorous ambience and accentuating the stunning view of Darling Harbour through its windows.
In April, George’s Mediterranean Bar & Grill at King Street Wharf opened up their restaurant to 2012 My Kitchen Rules contestants, siblings Steve & Helen, who hosted a magnificent Greek feast! This was a four course meal featuring custom made dishes from Steve & Helen, along with some favourites off George’s menu, to celebrate the Greek Festival of Sydney, and it was definitely an unforgettable celebration.
