Our love for Mappen and Oiden is well documented on this blog – so we were quite keen to try out the newest venture from that group into hot dogs, fittingly called Dog Dog Japon and located inside the same arcade as Mappen.
Is it a bird? Or a plane? No, it’s Superman…or one of his many superhero friends riding a Vespa and holding a sandwich! The Sandwich Hero is one of the most interesting food services to shake up Sydney, offering sandwich deliveries from superheroes to the many CBD offices throughout Sydney.
We are huge fans of the food trucks that are doing the rounds through the CBD serving up gourmet “fast food” from different cuisines. One of the newer additions to the food truck club is The Nighthawk Diner, dishing up American style dishes like Philly Cheesesteak Sub sandwiches, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese bagels and huge milkshakes! All the action at Nighthawk happens inside a shiny silver trailer, which is going to be parked at World Square until October 13 from 11am-10pm everyday, in the breezy outdoor area of World Square (in front of Cue and the staircase to Din Tai Fung).
Since I last blogged about Grill’d, a whole lot more stores have been popping up over Australia with 9 now open in Sydney, which is great news because their burgers are so freaking delicious! Today we popped by the World Square branch which is right underneath Din Tai Fung and conveniently has window seats overlooking the open plaza area – great for people watching hehe.
