The glamorous Rosetta Trattoria is part of Neil Perry’s restaurant empire and is a sleek spot for Italian at The Rocks, decked out with plenty of sumptuous velvet furnishings and mood lighting to set the ambience.
We visited for a celebratory dinner with some friends on a Lime & Tonic shared menu which allowed us to explore their menu. To start, we enjoyed their creamy Burrata served with juicy Bello Rosso tomatoes and the delicious slivers of mixed Salumi (our favourites were the Wagyu Bresaola and the Ventricina pork sausage).
The generously sized Rigatoni alla Norma starter featuring flavoursome eggplant was a tasty way to ease into the mains (in fact some of us thought it was actually part of our mains!)

Moving onto the mains, we loved the tender Cape Grim flat iron steak tagliata with an appetising dragoncello sauce (made from tarragon and anchovies). The Grilled Market Fish (was John Dory fillets on the night we visited) was also done well, elevated by the salmorglio sauce featuring garlic, parsley and lemon.

For our desserts, we shared some Cannoli (perfectly crisp on the outside with a delectable ricotta filling) and an intriguing Torta di Verona that looked like breakfast but tasted divine, a wonderful blend of mascarpone cream, berries and toasted almonds.

We found our experience at Rosetta to live up to our high expectations – with Neil Perry behind the menu and the quality of the ingredients and execution, all coming together to create a memorable dinner in luxe surrounds.
