Momofuku Seiobo (Degustation), Pyrmont

I’ve heard a lot of things about Momofuku ever since it opened in 2011. From the rave reviews, to their famous pork buns and notoriously difficult booking system, I was definitely excited to finally try their degustation. It looks like the hype has died down a bit since as the booking system isn’t that difficult anymore – bookings open 20 days in advance online only, but demand isn’t that high with spots available with less than a week in advance. I visited on a Friday night and not all the seats were taken, so rest assured you don’t need to camp out at your computer 20 days in advance.

Kobe Jones (Good Food Month), King Street Wharf

It’s that time of the year again – our favourite month of the year…Good Food Month!! Rabbit Hole Bar and Dining, Sydney

Rabbit Hole Bar and Dining is a hidden underground bar/restaurant near the Martin Place area. Situated in the space previously occupied by Bar Europa, they’ve been open for about a year and a half now and have already made a name for themselves serving up tasty meals (check out their wagyu beef burger!) and drinks. I’ve been a couple of times before but this time we’re trying out a pilot of their ‘Cocktail Concepts & Culinary Craze’ – a monthly event that will showcase unique cooking techniques and molecular mixology.

Press Food and Wine, Adelaide

On our last night in our recent trip to Adelaide, we thought we’d visit one of the finer restaurants in town and were recommended Press Food and Wine. As we walked there, the surrounding area of the CBD was highly reminiscent of Melbourne – many alleyways with artwork on the walls with hidden bars and trendy looking restaurants, except with less crowds and lines. Nevertheless, on a Wednesday night Press Food and Wine’s upstairs dining room was fully booked, but thankfully they leave the ground floor for walk-ins.

Devon Cafe, Surry Hills

Devon Cafe only opened last year but they’re already a huge hit, constantly drawing in long lines during peak weekend lunch times. I’ve been there twice already for lunch and the food is pretty good, but they’ve since realised they can capitalise on their popularity and have expanded into dinner (Thurs-Sat only). The dinner menu has a nice selection of snacks, smaller and larger plates incorporating the Modern Asian flavours they’re known for.
