Kinn, Castle Hill

Kinn is part of the dining district at the Piazza at Castle Towers and is one of our favourite Thai restaurants in Sydney – not only for their consistently tasty menu, but also because their stylish, dark wooden decor with spacious interiors makes it a great spot for group catch up meals when we’re in the Hills.

We visited for a weekend lunch and tucked straight into some crispy Crab Prawn Spring Rolls (served with a plum sauce) to start, with a mug of piping hot Honey Jujube tea to keep us warm.

For our mains, we went for their Chili Jam Crispy Soft Shell Crab, which featured a generous serving of the crunchy battered seafood in a deliciously complex chili jam sauce, which was creamier than I was expecting. Our other main was the grilled Pork Rib, the tender meat marinated in an addictive house-made sauce for maximum tastiness.

We didn’t really need any more flavours with all the aromas and textures in our mains, but we ended up going with the flavoursome Prawn Fried Rice as the carb base for our lunch, cooked Thai style with shrimp paste, eggs and vegies.

Prawn Fried Rice, $18.9

Safe to say that our tastebuds were pretty satisfied at the end of our meal at Kinn – in all our visits here they’ve always delivered in the flavour stakes at a reasonable price point, considering the generous servings and quality ingredients.
