Manpuku, Kingsford

In my uni days, I used to spend a lot of lunchtimes around Kingsford at all the little restaurants on Anzac Parade – but this time visiting as a non-student, I was quite amazed at how much the restaurant offerings in the area have changed in terms of variety. One of the more recent additions is Manpuku, a ramen joint which is quite busy on a Friday night.

Banana Blossom Asian Salads, Bondi Beach

Nestled off the busy Hall Street at Bondi Beach is the third branch of Banana Blossom, a small chain of Asian salad restaurants which opened a few years ago. It’s a beautiful summer day and I’m planning to visit the beach later, so I’m pretty stoked to be trying a lighter lunch of salads instead of the usual meat-heavy lunches I’d usually opt for.

Joe Black, Surry Hills

Nestled into one of the many side streets of Surry Hills near Museum is a quiet achiever by the name of Joe Black. Step inside and you’ll find trendy wall art (think giant moustaches, an ape evolution mural and a modified “Cityrail” map), which is the perfect setting to indulge in some bang on trend dishes like the Slow Cooked Pork Belly Roll and Caramel Cronut we had.

I have heard a lot of good things about Nomad, a cellar door and Mediterranean restaurant tucked away in a quiet street in the foothills of Surry Hills, so we decided to hit it up before heading over to Capitol Theatre to watch a show.

Ribs & Burgers, Neutral Bay

One of the meatiest and tastiest casual dining chains is Ribs & Burgers, serving up a huge selection of burgers and ribs at affordable prices across Sydney. Today we’re visiting their original branch which is tucked away on a back street just off the main Military Rd surrounded by a plethora of restaurants.
