Dos Senoritas, Gladesville

With the weather gradually getting cooler, I’ve recently been craving some hearty Mexican food. I’m used to only eating this at food courts and not at proper restaurants, so it’s about time I found an actual Mexican restaurant. My friend told me about this place at Gladesville which is allegedly super authentic and one of the best Mexican restaurants in Sydney, so of course I had to check it out!

A Taste Of The Dairy – Cafe Opera, InterContinental Hotel

Last year, Cafe Opera at the InterContinental Hotel introduced their “A Taste Of…” food series – a degustation showcasing and supporting local produce. After a successful last year, three more series have been introduced this year including:

  • A Taste of The Dairy – April 1st – 30th
  • A Taste of Head to Tail – May 19th – June 14th
  • A Taste of Foraged Feasting – July 14th – August 11th

Hot Star Large Fried Chicken, Town Hall

Move over KFC – Hot Star Fried Chicken has just landed in Sydney!

The already popular Hot Star Large Fried Chicken shop is the latest example in the trend of fast food outlets from other parts of the world opening up shop on the narrow strip of real estate near World Square and we’re loving finally having these guilty pleasures in town.

Fika Swedish Kitchen, Manly

Tucked away in a laneway in Manly is Fika Swedish Kitchen, a small and homely cafe that opened last year. Characterised by beautiful and modern designs which the Swedish are so well known for, they’ve gone all out to transport you halfway across the world – the concrete floor has been painted to mimic the iconic Segels torg, framed on the walls are famous Swedish brands and in the back corner is even a cupboard selling imported snacks. Attention to detail is key here to their authenticity.
