Mexican food has become increasingly popular in Sydney lately and it is a cuisine which is particularly suitable for adaptation into fast food. El Loco is one such canteen style restaurant in the foothills of Surry Hills dishing out cheap Mexican fare which is served quickly.

The Fish Shop, Potts Point
The Fish Shop is yet another one of Merivale’s many eateries, this time located just a bit out of the CBD at Potts Point. I’m here on a Friday night and the vibe is pretty great filled with a mix of young adults, workers and groups of friends catching up. It’s packed full but not too busy that we can’t get a seat, and throughout the night they manage to maintain a full seated crowd without a line forming at the door.

30 Knots, Sydney CBD
Nestled away just around the corner from George Street is 30 Knots, another Merivale eatery that is extremely convenient but not particularly well known. It sits up on the upper levels of The Grand Hotel and seems much busier now than a couple months back when I first visited.

Ms. G’s, Potts Point
After hearing all about this place from other bloggers and my friends, I finally found the time to trek over to Potts Point to try it out for myself. I always had a misconception in my head that Potts Point is inconvenient to get to, but it’s just a short stroll from King’s Cross station. It’s a quirky, kitschy place decked out with random Asian decorations but retains a Western vibe through its atmosphere.
