It’s hard to believe that there are even more new cafe and eateries springing up in Alexandria around all the new apartment complexes that are now being completed, but it’s definitely welcome as there’s much more space for these new restaurants to play up their decor.
One eatery that has taken to the industrial chic aesthetic with gusto is COOH, which has gorgeous contemporary decor throughout their cavernous space with soaring ceilings and floor to ceiling windows that are opened up to take advantage of the warmer spring weather now.
We’re surprised that it’s taken us this long to discover COOH, which blew us away with their high calibre dishes that allowed the quality produce to shine through – sticking to their philosophy of delicious, wholesome and healthy organic food.
We dropped in for lunch and tried out their incredible Wild Mushroom Risotto which was packed full of flavour and had a wonderful creamy texture that was rich without being overwhelming. I matched that with a healthy (yet delicious) Immune Crushie which featured acai, apple juice, blueberries and chia seeds, all blended together for one hell of a super drink to kick off the weekend.

The boy went for their Tuna Burger with its intriguing charcoal bun, which came with a tasty spice encrusted seared tuna filling for something a bit different. The fresh tuna was paired with smashed avocado and corn, and a tasty jalapeno mayo which all melded together to create a Hawaiian inspired dish which is much healthier than your typical burger, though the addictive sweet potato fries on the side with a vegan aioli do tip the dish slightly towards the unhealthy end of the spectrum…

COOH lives up to its promise, managing to execute top notch dishes which were so flavoursome yet wholesome, all in trendy surrounds that take it from day til night with their dinner service. One meal and we’re hooked at this new fave of ours – we will definitely be back with a group of friends to take advantage of their leafy al fresco area in the summer.
