It may be located on the corner of a quiet street in the inner west, but the tiny GIANT lives up to its name, punching well above its weight with its gourmet menu featuring some interesting ingredients.
Case in point – the very photogenic Famous Brioche Toast. It’s (insta-)famous for a reason – a wondrous mound of Persian pashmak (a.k.a. fairy floss) adorning a slice of fluffy brioche that has been drizzled with Canadian maple syrup, salted caramel and mascarpone cheese and balanced out (slightly) with a mix of berries and fig scattered artfully around the plate. When we first saw it, we thought it would be way too sweet for us, but on first bite we were in heaven – somehow they’ve managed to strike that fine balance between all those ingredients to create the ultimate grown-up’s fairy bread.

We must confess that we had to split up all the sweetness with some savoury from the other side of their menu and the Croque Madam with smoked jamon, bechamel, gruyere and a decadent 72 hour truffle infused fried egg on toasted sourdough did the job perfectly. Note that when they say the egg is truffle infused – they really mean it here!

We were impressed with the blend of dishes on offer at The tiny Giant and can see why it’s being raved about – it’s a top notch spot for a brunch catch up, in a space that has plenty of character both in its decor and the menu that it serves up.
