Radley’s, Chatswood

The dining precinct at Chatswood Chase has a new casual eatery vying for the affordable eats crowd – the name is Radley’s and this burger and rotisserie chicken joint is sandwiched between the ever popular New Shanghai and Kreta Ayer.

Radley’s is a brand hailing from Singapore, where their concept of fuss-free, reasonably priced burgers and rotisserie chicken served in contemporary surrounds has proven successful over the years. They have recently brought this concept to the hungry diners of Sydney, with an emphasis on quality ingredients (such as Lilydale free range chicken) and plan to continue expanding with more outlets to open soon in the CBD.

We dropped in for dinner one night and were impressed by the modern fitout and comfortable booth seating, which is great for groups and families. The menu covers off all the usual suspects for mains and sides considering their specialties of burgers and rotisserie chicken, and also extends to prime rib steaks and chicken schnitzel.

We were fans of their very tasty signature Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger, with the juicy chicken coated in a crispy batter and paired with caramelised onion, chilli mayo and some coleslaw between two fluffy buns. Their chips were also especially crunchy and made for a satisfying side with the burger.

Their Quarter Rotisserie Chicken on the other hand was a bit drier in comparison to the juiciness of their Buttermilk Fried Chicken, but dipping it in their gravy helped boost the juice factor. The Rotisserie Chicken came with sides of mac and cheese, creamy potato mash and some hot veggies, which turned it into quite a substantial meal for a great value price.

We also opted for the Prime Rib Steak with a side of hot chips and thought that their steak was cooked nicely to our medium rare specification – the meat was relatively tender, although it could have done with a side of sauce (we ended up using a bit of our gravy from the chicken) and there is a condiments station on the side with some sauces on offer. We washed down our meal with some very on trend kombucha drinks, in an original flavour that was quite tangy and also a refreshing watermelon and mint varietal that we enjoyed.

All in all, Radley’s is a great spot for a laidback, easy feed in Chatswood with a fantastic value menu, especially with their focus on quality ingredients. The burger alone is well worth a visit and repeat visits too at a very affordable price.
