If you venture out from the central Parramatta precinct where the station and Westfield are located, you’ll discover the Adora café which stands out from the grey concrete office buildings as a sleekly decorated space dedicated to chocolate. It was a sunny day when we visited; bright rays of sunshine were streaming through the floor to ceiling glass windows onto customers who were sipping on their hot chocolates and indulging in sweet treats.
For those who haven’t heard of Adora Handmade Chocolates, they started out locally in Earlwood and have expanded their boutiques to both Parramatta and the city where you can find their wide range of chocolate truffles and cakes. These are crafted daily by their pastry chefs and chocolatiers.
Presented in neat rows behind the glass display case are all sorts of beautifully decorated chocolate truffles. There are so many different types to choose from, I don’t even know where to start so I let the boy decide and he settles for the safe option of their dark chocolate nut clusters.
Leaving the chocolates for later, we start with their hot Belgian milk chocolate drink instead. It was a delectable blend of smooth cocoa with just the right amount of creaminess and foam.
Hot Belgian Milk chocolate, $5
Now onto the 2 delightful chocolate clusters – they were both coated in the same premium dark chocolate which made them almost indistinguishable on the outside. We liked their almond version more than the hazelnut cluster because it was just a bit more fragrantly nutty although both went down very smoothly.
Almond and Hazelnut dark chocolate clusters, $1.50 each
Adora is pretty much a one stop shop catering for all types of chocolate lovers. There are elaborate chocolate baskets, minimalistic wrapped truffle boxes and of course, the liquid version of their premium cocoa. It’s a lovely spot for a sweet drink, with a relaxed yet chic kind of vibe thanks to the modern furnishings and I’d drop by again if I’m around Parramatta.
Excuse Me Waiter dined as a guest of Adora.

I’ve tried Adora’s hot chocolate and I agree, it’s fabulous!
They’re a hidden gem 🙂
I went to a chocolate masterclass organised by them at the Good Food & Wine Show last year, good stuff!
Ooh that sounds like fun! Wouldn’t mind learning more about chocolate 😉
Oh my, this looks great AND it’s close to home! Thanks for sharing, I must pay them a visit
Yes Adora gets bonus points for having a branch out in the west! They’re a great little chocolate cafe 🙂
So far I’ve managed to avoid this please even though it is SO close to home. The chocolate clusters sound yummy.
Somehow I always manage to overlook the best places to eat in my area as well and end up trekking halfway across the city! You should definitely check this place out when you get a chance 🙂
Mmm I am a serious chocoholic and methinks I would benefit well from a visit here!
Definitely a shop which chocoholics would love! So many different types of chocolate to choose from 🙂
