Restaurant 317, Parramatta

Restaurant 317 has been a fixture in the Parramatta dining scene for over a decade, well-known for its extensive Italian menu and spacious, contemporary setting spread across two buildings linked by a shared laneway, which makes it great for group gatherings.

We dropped by for lunch recently and started off our meal with Garlic Prawns from their sizzling hotpot selection to share. The juicy prawns were sauteed with fresh garlic in a delicious napoletana tomato sauce and served with some toasted bread on the side which we used to mop up that addictive sauce.

For mains, we went for the Linguini Slipper Lobster that featured chunks of slipper lobster tail tossed in a creamy sauce infused with fresh garlic, parsley and basil, along with sweet roast pumpkin for something a bit different. This luxe take on a seafood pasta was quite richly flavoured and was a great dish for winter.

Another winter warmer was Restaurant 317’s Veal Osso Buco – the meat had been slow roasted and finished with a sweet red wine and rosemary jus to create a hearty dish that filled us right up.

Veal Osso Buco, $27.9

There’s definitely something for everyone on the menu at Restaurant 317 (including a comprehensive selection of dishes that can be made gluten-free too) and the reasonable price points for the generous portions make it a popular choice for group catch ups in Parramatta that keep the crowds coming back to this old favourite.
