The quiet suburb of Rozelle is one that we usually pass through to get to Balmain and we tend to forget that there’s quite a few cafe options on their village-style main strip. One such option is the spacious Rozelle Espresso, which is in a prime corner location with contemporary wooden decor with some greenery hanging from the ceiling.
Their all day breakfast menu is extensive and we went for the Sweet Corn and Zucchini Fritters, which were adorned with so many edible flowers. The fluffy fritters were crispy on the outside and went well with the fresh tomato salsa, avocado and sour cream. You can also add smoked salmon or bacon on top if you’re not feeling like a full veggie breakfast.
Sweet Corn and Zucchini Fritters, $17.9
From their lunch menu, their Spanner Crab Angel Hair Pasta also caught our eye and it was a generous serving, with plenty of shredded spanner crab meat tossed in with the super thin strands of pasta and juicy cherry tomatoes. There’s a bit of a kick to the sauce, thanks to the chilli and garlic and some rocket thrown in for the green factor.
Spanner Crab Angel Hair Pasta, $24
We could’ve stopped at just the two dishes above, but we had a craving for some Sweet Potato Chips – unfortunately they weren’t available but we got some Potato Wedges instead which did the trick. These crispy morsels satisfied our craving, dipped in the classic combo of sweet chilli and sour cream.
Potato Wedges, $7.5
All in all, Rozelle Espresso is a solid spot for brunch catch ups – with plenty of seating and many breakfast and lunch classics on offer, at a decent price point for the serving sizes.
