The Social Brew is a bustling cafe which spills out onto the sidewalk, making it quite a pet friendly spot. Unfortunately, we don’t have a furry friend dining with us for our brunch, but we still soaked up the sunshine at our outside table, while we enjoyed a refreshing Watermelon Strawberry Pear and Basil juice (comes with a cheeky “spiked” option too if you’re feeling like something alcoholic to kickstart your day…) and also a deliciously filling Acai Amazon Blend smoothie which also featured granny smith apples, bananas and honey.

For brunch, we had the best of both worlds by picking one dish from their all day breakfast menu and another from their all day lunch menu. For the breakfast part of our meal, we went with the tasty Apple Cider Eggs Benedict and black forest ham, the perfectly poached eggs served on a slice of very thick and fluffy brioche for something a bit different.

Onto the heftier portion of the meal, we indulged in their Crispy Fried Free Range Chicken which had a finger licking good crunchy exterior and was backed up by an addictive smoky mayo and a refreshing spiced carrot slaw on the side. We also couldn’t go past the shoestring fries as an add-on to mop up that delicious smoky mayo.

The Social Brew has a solid menu that delivers something for everyone at all times of the day thanks to their flexible all day options – a nice spot to drop in for a catch up with friends to enjoy some outdoor dining on the edge of the city with friendly service.
