Bridge Street Garage, Sydney

You won’t miss the bright neon sign of the Bridge Street Garage when you walk through the city, and we were drawn in like moths to a flame. The Garage is an American themed restaurant with a bar area fronting the street and large tables at the back for a sit-down dinner. Our group settled easily into a comfortable booth facing the kitchen. The American theme also extended to the drinks list with beers such as Samuel Adams available on the menu.

Bowery Lane, Sydney

One of the newest chic restaurants to hit Sydney is Bowery Lane, located right opposite Swine & Co in the banking district. Compact and charming, it features sleek dark interiors, small booths and an extensive menu covering brunch, dinner and cocktails. Tonight we’re trying a whole bunch of dishes from their dinner menu where a lot of the plates are designed for sharing – sooo excited!

Swine & Co, Wynyard

Swine & Co has taken over the old Bavarian Bier Café site on O’Connell Street, glamming things up with a more luxe fit out than its predecessor, although the structural bones of the restaurant have stayed the same. As befits its name, the focus of its menu is pork, pork and more pork in all shapes and forms.

Contrabando, Wynyard

It’s no secret that I am a big fan of Barrafina Tapas and when I heard that they were opening up a brand new Latin American restaurant next door called Contrabando, I just had to check it out. The team behind Barrafina Tapas has taken over the old Noble House Chinese restaurant site and revamped the basement location into something completely different – starting with the graffiti adorned hidden entrance, signposted only by the upside down Noble House sign on the street.
