Mejico, Wynyard

There are a lot of cheap fast food options for Mexican food in Sydney but the craze for tacos has moved up a notch with the arrival of Mejico, which oozes upmarket trendiness in its décor and menu. It sits right next to Jamie’s Italian on Pitt Street and is already packed to the rafters when we drop in only a week after its opening. If you haven’t made a booking, then your best bet is to take a seat at the bar area at the front next to the open kitchen because you can order anything from the full menu and drinks too.

Dulce Luna Viennoiserie, Sydney CBD

Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to travel to Paris and had the most amazing pastries and croissants there. Ever since returning to Sydney, it has been so hard to find something even comparable to European pastries. I often find the ones here much too buttery, salty or just not fluffy and light enough, so you can imagine my delight when I found out a new viennoiserie was opening its doors in the Sydney CBD.

30 Knots, Sydney CBD

Nestled away just around the corner from George Street is 30 Knots, another Merivale eatery that is extremely convenient but not particularly well known. It sits up on the upper levels of The Grand Hotel and seems much busier now than a couple months back when I first visited.
